Ghostly Courtyard in Abu Dhabi By Edoardo Tresoldi

Artist Edoardo Tresoldi has constructed a phantom Classical courtyard as the setting for a royal event in Abu Dhabi.

Using transparent wire mesh – his signature material – the Italian sculptor has built colossal columns, arches and domes between trees and plants dotted around the 7,000 sq ft events space.

The project, dubbed ARCHETYPE, was realised in collaboration with Dubai event specialists Designlab Experience. After the event wraps, the artwork will be dismantled and parts will be reinstalled in parks, museums and universities across the UAE capital, according to Designboom.

Fans of Tresoldi’s ghostly artworks can also check out his permanent exhibition at the Santa Maria Maggiore di Siponto church in Puglia, Italy, where he has reconstructed a destroyed basilica.
