Old Hollywood is New Again at The Prospect Hotel

While visiting Los Angeles there’s no better experience than getting up close and personal with Old Hollywood— reveling in its glamour, nightlife, and history. Newly opened hotel, The Prospect, delivers all this and more. The Prospect is the latest boutique hotel by PRG Hospitality Group, a labor of love to Hollywood’s Golden Age of stars and style while delivering modern luxuries. The 1939 building was meticulously restored in collaboration with the Hollywood Heritage Historic Society to ensure careful attention to original details. The Prospect is located in the Whitley Heights neighborhood, an area known for its prominent history as home to legendary screen icons such as Jean Harlow, Marlene Dietrich, James Dean and more. Interiors were designed by celebrity interior designer, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, known for his sophisticated eclectic spaces.

“The Prospect is filled with Hollywood history and has a generous touch of old school glamour. That, to me, is the perfect recipe for a boutique hotel and as my first in L.A. itself, it is the springboard to what I believe is needed in the area,” states Bullard.

The hotel is as playful as it is intimate, featuring two floors of rooms, a lobby of marble splendor, and a central courtyard garden complete with fireplaces and a water fountain. The rooms are lavish with glamorous designs inspired by its Hollywood Regency roots including gold-leafed ceilings, custom wallpapers in high-contrast patterns such as Chinoiserie, Venetian Marble and Hollywood Palm. The vintage artwork, glassware, and Old Hollywood memorabilia are charming details that make the rooms feel like a personal residence.
