Hotel Barcelo Torre de Madrid is a modernist pearl. Designed by Jaime Hayon, it’s a nod to Spanish cultural heritage. Located between Calle Princesa and Gran Vía, the 256-room hotel features an eclectic mix of Arabic and Moorish details. Sculptures, paintings, commissioned photographs by Klunderbie and artsy furniture are set among sleek marble and concrete surfaces.
Elegant insets of gold brass appear on decorative details, such as lamps or mirror frames. Hayon aimed to reflect the diversity of Madrid and he succeeded – unique design, bursting colours and an avant-garde touch make perfect sense inside this landmark skyscraper designed by a famous architect Julio Otamendi.
