At the end of last year, Flores & Prats Architects have completed a 6 years long project. Ricardo Flores and Eva Prats restored the old Peace and Justice cooperative in Poblenou district, Barcelona. Thanks to this new life breathed into this 1920s building, it is now a charming place of creation and body expression, creating a successful cohabitation between pastel walls and mosaic pavements. The restored Sala Beckett has been carefully executed for theatrical activities, benefiting from the building characteristics like wall sculptures and curving shapes of the architecture to give stronger meanings to the drama.
« …with its unfinished character of superimposed periods, in a new reality that would continue to be updated on this foundation. the challenge of the project is therefore to adapt the building to its new use without banishing its ghosts. »
