Secondome has exhibited during last Milan Design Week a collection entitled ‘Unplugged’ at ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’, gathering six designers to realize limited edition pieces.
All handmade, the collection sounds like the ‘Unplugged’ music, an acoustic blend of six different universes exploring and revealing the core of materials’ features.
The sculptural ‘Voluta’ rocking chair by Stefan Marolla, inspired by classical organic plastic shapes, has required complex techniques to create this elastic effect. The opaline glass produced since the 50’s combined with colored mosaic pleat are the main features of ‘Risvolti’ mirrors designed by Vito Nesta in collaboration with Effetto Vetro. ‘Disarming’ table lamp by Gio Tirotto is made of laser cut brass with metal inserts in lost wax-brass and has been worked like parts of scale model. ‘Glitch’ is Millim Studio wallpaper that turns the ‘fault’ into ‘true decorative beauty’. For ‘Lunapark’ coffee table, Alessandro Zambelli used glass fusion technique to obtain these aligned colorful drops while ‘Dorsoduro’ cabinet by 4P1B wears a brass structure and Venetian marble from Grandinetti.
‘Unplugged’ collection emphasizes the striving researches lid by Secondome for over 10 years to merge craftsmanship and technology.
