Loewe’s presence on the Spanish party island of Ibiza is growing. The house has hosted an annual summer shop for three years running in the Museu d’Art Contemporani and, new for 2017, it’s also launched a revival collection with cult boutique Paula’s Ibiza. Today’s latest Loewe-related news adds to that pile: This morning, creative director Jonathan Anderson announced a specially produced summer soundtrack that aims to transport listeners back to the island’s most wildly hedonist nights in the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Titled Close to Paradise, the track contains both an A and B-side and is available to buy on vinyl record now from Dee Wee Studio and The Vinyl Factory. Digital listeners can also download both sides for free on iTunes or add the song to their Soundcloud playlist. Its rhythm-inducing beats come courtesy of multi-talented band slash DJs Soulwax with additional sound direction by Michel Gaubert, who wove narration from four local Ibiza residents throughout.
Take a listen to both sides of Close to Paradise here—if you close your eyes, you can almost feel the Baleric sea breeze whipping through your hair as you party, light-headed, until dawn.
