The translation of iconic products into contemporary language and the transformation of fashion into aesthetics for everyday life are the key concepts for the new VIC MATIÉ spring summer 2018 collection. Silvia Curzi, Creative Director of the brand, transforms the themes of the season with clarity and simplicity according to the language of the brand which features a recognizable and highly international style and high – level of research and product quality.
The story that emerges is that of a contemporary woman and of the different ways in which she asserts her strong and original personality. Exalted in the everyday, femininity becomes individuality and uniqueness.
The glamourisation of sports makes the sneaker a carry over, redesigns the running shoe, redefines the ballerina flat with a pointed toe and laces at the ankle and conquers the flatform in monoblock rubber with the original version of the classic tennis shoe and trainer from the 1970s. The use of the tone – on – tone logo that is repeated throughout the collection – reflective, in contrast, macro, micro – underscores the sporty attitude of shoes and bags in a decisive and quirky manner with a reference to the 1980s.
Ruffles and bows in leather and fringed fabric pair with dynamic and urban rubber wedges, lighten the strong character of pointed toes of the ballerinas and make the high heel sandals unique.
Macro metallic piercings give character to the monoblock flat soled sandals and are repeated on summer creeper in washed denim, woven leather, lightweight naplak in pastel tones and on crackle leather loafers.
The men’s laced shoe has a new look with a thin sole in leather and rubber and fine leathers that make it as light and soft as a glove. The mule version is smooth, minimal, embellished by a satin sock.
The ankle boots are the ubiquitous icon of VIC MATIÉ. In the new season they are slim, open toe, covered heel or oversize geometric heel. In woven leather, crackle leather, naplak, suede, fabric.
The open heel returns anew after the success of recent seasons. The new version in metal with rounded shape distinguishes the v – neck pumps, moccasins, slingback, mules with macro metal buckles and tone on tone and feminine sandals with a torchon of micro mignon leather.
The metal heel is a hallmark of the brand. For the SS2018,, on sandals,, it is macro with thin leather and reptile bands that celebrate femininity and elegance. Heels are micro in size and height on pumps, slingbacks, slender mules and ankle boots
The collection of handbags expands according to brand identity and aesthetics.. Backpacks,, totes and macro shopping bags have external multifunction pockets, detachable pockets and pull – out coinpurses. Briefcases are composed of multiple modular elements that enhance daily functionality and metal details. The tone – on – tone logo, reflective, contrasting, macro and oversize is found in the decorative zipper pull and is used to characterize the collection together with metal chains and leather ruffles.
