HOKUSAI’S THE GREAT WAVE OFF KANAGAWA STANDS OUT ON THE FACADES Of Moscow's Palaces

Etalon City is the residential complex designed by the Etalon Group in Moscow. The aspect on which they focused in a particular way and which allowed the engineers to experiment was the design of the facades of the buildings. Last year, three of the nine buildings were given silhouettes in New York, Chicago, Barcelona, and Munich, but the real masterpiece was designed for the six square buildings, built along the motorway line. On these six facades, with a total surface area of almost 60,000 square meters, the world’s most famous Japanese work, Katsushika Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa, has been reproduced. This particular development of the facades and the choice of subjects is intended to be a hymn to globalization, a perfect representation of different cities and places in the world.
