Grimes Fronts adidas by Stella McCartney’s Sustainable FW19 Campaign Taking style cues from the designer’s FW19 runway

Following the reveal of its two apparel pieces created in collaboration with Evrnu and Bolt Threadsadidas by Stella McCartney has finally unveiled the full Fall/Winter 2019 collection. The campaign features sustainable and innovative fabrics sported by Canadian musician Grimes.

Engineered to meet the dynamic needs of women, pieces from this range are created using cutting-edge methods which also reduce impact on our planet. Garments are comprised of recycled polyester made with Parley Ocean Plastic and regenerated ECONYL yarn. The BOOST, Climachill and Climalite technologies are added to endure intense workouts and harsh climate conditions. “Performance and style are at the heart of every piece adidas by Stella McCartney creates, but we believe that this shouldn’t come at a cost to the planet. Our focus for this collection was to incorporate fabrics that help us get one step closer to our future goal of high-performing, sustainable performance wear,” Stella McCartney expressed in a statement. In terms of design, graphic prints feature earth-toned hues which are inspired by nature. Styles are inspired by Stella McCartney’s FW19 runway, from the soft color palette to prints and bold mesh materials. Key items range from the new Warpknit Long Sleeve which allows athletes to stay cool during exercise, to the Light Jacket and Run M20 Short for a full training look.

For its campaign adidas tapped Canadian musician and activist Grimes who is seen sporting the collection pieces in the gallery above. The celebrity was selected because “she is passionate and outspoken protecting the planet, and a true trailblazer for pushing creative boundaries and inspiring women to unlock their potential in all aspects of their lives.” Select items from the adidas by Stella McCartney FW19 collection are now available at adidas and Stella McCartney‘s online stores. The Golden UltraBOOST, UltraBOOST HD Running Look and Winterpack are slated to drop on September 1.
