The North Face SS20 Black Series Debuts at Paris Fashion Week Event The coming together of haute couture and technical sportswear

After revamping their focus on design-driven outerwear a couple of weeks back with the introduction of the SS20 Black SeriesThe North Face cemented the collection’s place within the world of performance wear by holding a special event at Paris Fashion Week on February 24. SS20 Black Series embodies TNF’s design-led culture with the brand’s focus on heritage as well as constant innovation. The new range explores the cross-boundaries between haute couture and technical sportswear by pairing advanced materials and technologies with sleek, modern silhouettes worn the modern city explorer. Inspiration for SS20 was taken from The North Face Archival Library; styles born atop the mountain peaks were distilled to their simplest forms before being rebuilt up, elevated and modernized.

On the night of the PFW event, guests were invited to experience a milestone in the brand’s history. The preview of the performance-focused collection saw the brand’s signature Geodesic Dome make a comeback. Members of The North Face’s global athlete team – Margo Hayes and Matty Hong – featured in the collection’s nature-led creative campaign that was presented during the event, and a special performance from Brooklyn-based DJ and producer Yaeji brought the crowd – as well as the vision for Black Series – to life.
