The great New York fashion night is finally back. The Met Gala 2024 celebrates the Costume Institute’s new exhibition Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, with a dress code theme: The Garden of Time, or “an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion.” And the “Sleeping Beauties” stars, as usual, amazed. One after another on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
This year the evening is chaired by Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, Zendaya and Bad Bunny. And it is, as always, Anna Wintour who does the honors of the Costume Institute benefit.

Chris Hemsworth, in keeping with co-host tradition, was among the first to leave the Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side and arrive at the Met, accompanied by his wife Elsa Pataky. Zendaya returned to the Met Gala for the first time in five years, and the Challengers star admitted to missing it. Boyfriend Tom Holland, on the other hand, stayed home. The actress arrived practically together with Jennifer Lopez, and the two so close together drove the photographers crazy. Also big absentee was Ben Affleck, busy filming The Accountant 2 in Los Angeles.

Lea Michele debuted with a baby bump: there is a second child on the way. And the red carpet also featured the reunion of the triangle of the moment: after the divine Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor also arrived. Ode to Challengers and seduction. Coordinated and matched were Eddie Redmayne and wife Hannah Bagshawe. Unaccompanied, however, was Jessica Biel. Rihanna surprisingly stayed home: stuck with the flu. No sign of Timothée Chalamet at Kylie Jenner‘s side. Last January’s Golden Globe love affairs seem now just a memory. Paired with siblings Jaden Smith and Willow Smith.
