Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2025 fashion show was staged at Park Güell in Barcelona, where western style met Catalan culture
With the Cruise 2025 fashion show, Louis Vuitton continues its architectural journey around the world. This time it is in Spain that the creative director of womenswear, Nicolas Ghesquière, decided to stage his new collection dedicated to vacation wear, to be exact in one of the country’s iconic places and a World Heritage Site according to UNESCO: Park Güell.
The world-famous park does not just act as a backdrop, but takes part in the fashion show contaminating Ghesquière’s creativity and clothes: we find it in the sand color of numerous looks that seem to so merge with the scenery in which they are immersed, that is, Hypostyle Hall, but also in the patterns of some dresses and pants designed as if they were a mosaic, a fantasy that often returns inside Park Güell. And again, some of the pants seem to move and may be reminiscent of the swaying nature of the park.
But the references to Spain and its opulent and passionate culture do not end there: the fan-shaped brooches, an accessory linked to the art of flamenco, a dance form that originated in Andalusia and returns in some long black dresses, speak of this country, as do the black lace and polka-dot patterns.
Moreover, in the collection Spanish culture merges with Western style, converging in a riot of fringing on dresses and jackets, but also in the styling choice of using double fanny packs.
An honorable mention should be reserved for the shoes, on which Nicolas Ghesquière decided to put a lot of emphasis: opalescent ankle boots and others covered with colorful bangs in the same neutral tones as the dresses, so sand, gray and black, glossy black patent leather boots high above the knee but also sling-backs adorned with flashy straps. It all definitely caught our attention, along with strict hats and those contrasting colors, on the finale, paired together on dramatic skirts and tops.
