Atsushi Nakashima graduated from Nagoya Fashion College in 2001 and in 2003 won the 20th Onward Fashion Grand Prix, now known as the Tokyo New Designer Fashion Grand Prix. The success brought about by the internationally renowned competition led the designer to become Jean Paul Gaultier’s assistant. In 2009 he was appointed head designer for one of the brand’s second lines; after two years he returned to Tokyo to establish his eponymous brand.
In the Fall Winter 2024/25, ATSUSHI NAKASHIMA explores unusual materials and shapes, starting from stainless steel colored by a special process used in kitchens is cut to match the three-dimensional shape of the human body.
