“The Icebergs and the Sea” the Open Architecture project

Open Architecture has just presented its unusual design for a nature museum in Shenzhen.
Entitled “The Icebergs and the Sea“, the museum complex will consist of six glass buildings whose shape and appearance resemble icebergs emerging from the subtropical waters of the Chinese city.

These glass ‘icebergs’ draw attention to the issue of global warming and the protection of the marine environment. As the iceberg is one of the most amazing elements in nature, but also the one most at risk due to continuous melting, the architects are sending out an alarming message: “the impact of melting ice caps at the poles may not be so far away from our daily lives!”
