Hedi Slimane, former creative director of Saint Laurent, went on a Twitter rant about the inclusion of the “Yves” in the Saint Laurent brand name, something he was widely known for erasing during his directorship.
Slimane’s succeeder, Anthony Vaccarello, debuted his first collection for the brand, which, whilst heavily referencing Slimane’s penchant for the 80s, forcibly bought back the “Yves”, as a tribute to the OG visionary Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent.
