The Colombian-born French designer has a resume that speaks for itself. After studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, he launched his label in 2001, quickly earning a place among the big names in fashion by defying convention and creating garments that are both modern and timeless. His style is characterized by fluid draping, skillful use of materials, and obsessive attention to detail. With his appointment at Canada Goose, Ackermann promises to elevate the brand’s aesthetic to new heights. “When it comes to the marriage of craftsmanship and beauty, there is no one better suited than Haider Ackermann,” said Dani Reiss, president and CEO of Canada Goose. The collaboration between the two stemmed from a common vision: authenticity, craftsmanship, and performance as key pillars of the brand.

Ackermann’s appointment coincides with the launch of an exclusive project in partnership with Polar Bears International (PBI), an organization committed to the protection of polar bears and their habitat. Starring in this campaign is actress and activist Jane Fonda, who perfectly embodies the spirit of commitment and passion that characterizes this initiative. In a series of powerful and inspiring images, Jane wears the PBI Hoodie, a limited-edition sweatshirt made of organic cotton, all proceeds from which will be donated to PBI. It will be available in four colors – Crystal White, Arctic Blue, Borealis Green and Onyx Black – from May 15, 2024 in select stores and online at canadagoose.com.
