Founded in 1980, K-BOXING is China’s leading brand in business-casual menswear. The company has achieved major international success, including five appearances at Milan Fashion Week.
Over time, K-BOXING has expanded its vision, evolving from a brand focused exclusively on jackets to one with a global outlook.
We interviewed Hong Boming, CEO & Creative Director K-BOXING group and Massimo Foroni, KB HONG Co-Creative Director
Hong Boming: What about your next project?
On January 19, after the presentation ended, we held a showroom in Milan for two months, from the show to the market, presenting KB HONG series products to buyers, media, and fashion industry professionals at the same time, and continuously exploring international market reputation and opportunities. KB HONG by K-BOXING has been on the official schedule of Milan Fashion Week for eight consecutive times, and we plan to return here again in June to continue our fashion journey.
Hong Boming: What are the main pillars that define the success of the KB Boxing Group, both in terms of brand strategy and operations?
This year is the 45th anniversary of K-BOXING. The key to sustainable development is that we have always focused on making good business casual men’s clothing with jackets as the core, constantly enhancing our brand power and product power, and providing high-quality, innovative, and international products such as KB HONG 25FW collections to consumers.
Hong Boming: How do you ensure that the brand stays relevant and competitive in such a dynamic global market?
The turbulence in the market requires brands with attitude, quality and connotation. We insist on walking on the top fashion weeks to represent Chinese brands on the world fashion stage; insist on the integration of Chinese culture and design, amplify the advantages of our fabric, craftsmanship and pattern; innovate with consumer trends, adhere to quality first and price rigidity; and continuously output brand spirit and encourage core consumers.
Massimo Foroni: How would you describe your FW 2025/26 collection?
A more mature, more conscious collection that respects its origins and DNA. The oriental details transform into decorative elements on garments crafted with oversized volumes, and the careful study of cuts positions the looks within a luxury sports collection. Meanwhile, the abstract graphics of falcons and horses bring us back to the mood of inspiration, to the origin of a journey that began long ago. KB HONG explores a new way of dressing without limits, experimenting with a fresh aesthetic that touches upon oriental culture while embracing the West with sartorial mastery and a careful vision of an increasingly demanding market.
Massimo Foroni: What is the message you want to send, and what kind of man is it referring to?
My role as a creative encompasses many responsibilities, as well as clear goals. I carry a message that I’ve been sharing for several seasons, one that can be seen throughout the collections I’ve designed: the freedom to express oneself, the freedom to change while respecting the codes of men’s wardrobes without distorting one’s essence. I address this message to each individual, regardless of age, origin, or orientation—an attentive man, inclined to dream of becoming what he is capable of becoming.
Massimo Foroni: What is your main source of inspiration?
I don’t have a single main source of inspiration. Often, ideas arise from emotions or sensations, from lived experiences, from a journey, a book, or a film. Sometimes, it’s a small spark that I entrust to my creativity, allowing it to grow within me and take me on a journey of imagination. Only later, often during the night, do I refine my ideas and make my concepts more concrete and achievable, tailoring them to the next collection.
